Let me tell you why MechanicKarma exists — and why I built it for women like you (and me).
Here's the thing: you shouldn't have to feel anxious, confused, or taken advantage of just because you don't speak "car." You deserve to understand what's happening with your vehicle, what's actually urgent (and what can wait), and what questions to ask without feeling stupid.
That's why MechanicKarma exists — to be your automotive best friend. The one who explains things in plain English, never judges you for not knowing something, and always has your back when you're dealing with car stuff.
We believe knowledge builds confidence and independence.
Your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities.
Building a sisterhood of automotive-confident women.
After serving in the Navy, I spent much of my life in Los Angeles — the land of endless traffic and even more endless car troubles. My aunt, like so many women I knew, was constantly frustrated with her mechanic. She'd pay for repairs that never seemed to fix the problem, and even discovered once that the work she was charged for was never done at all. Watching her go through that left a mark on me.
Years later, after moving back to Oklahoma, I started hearing the same stories from my coworkers — women who felt overcharged, dismissed, and taken advantage of when it came to their cars. One day, a coworker said something that stuck with me: "It's like mechanics see women as easy targets."
That night, I couldn't shake the thought. I went home and started building MechanicKarma — a platform designed to bring transparency, trust, and empowerment to women everywhere.
Because every woman deserves to feel confident and respected — whether she's driving a luxury car in Los Angeles or heading to work in Oklahoma.
MechanicKarma was born from that belief — that when knowledge meets community, karma works in your favor.
